As part of an initiative to strengthen knowledge management around the first phase of Gender and Governance Programme III, UNIFEM (now UN Women) and its partners, recruited a consultant, who worked with partners and UNIFEM staff to capture what has been learned in the course of implementation for future application. The study focused on what has worked and why as well as what didn't work and how can this be avoided in the future.
A total of 11 partners from the first phase of GGP III were visited based on an initial review of their proposals and available reports which identified interesting approaches that could generate informational materials for wider circulation. It is expected that partners will learn from each other and that this will strengthen partnership, aid coordination and therefore maximize the impact of the Gender and Governance Programme as a whole. Some of the best practices captured from GGP III partners have been documented and made available.
