Best Practices
As part of an initiative to strengthen knowledge management around the first phase of Gender and Governance Programme III, UNIFEM (now UN Women) and its partners, recruited a consultant, who worked with partners and UNIFEM staff to capture what has been learned in the course of implementation for future application. The study focused on what has worked and why as well as what didn't work and how can this be avoided in the future. A total of 11 partners from the first phase of GGP III were visited based on an initial review of their proposals and available reports which identified interesting approaches that could generate informational materials for wider circulation. It is expected that partners will learn from each other and that this will strengthen partnership, aid coordination and therefore maximize the impact of the Gender and Governance Programme as a whole. Some of the best practices captured from GGP III partners have been documented and made available.

I recently chanced upon this website and was impressed that there is a dedicated organization such as this one that is advancing the issue of women representation and participation in the political landscape in Kenya. I live outside the country and recently visited in December 2010 and was very impressed with the dynamism, hard work, energy and the enterprising nature of women in Kenya. They are in deed driving the economy, albeit with little recognition. Your advocacy work and the emerging economic welbeing of women are great tools that will see Kenyan women take their rightful place in shaping the political future of our beautiful country. Keep up the good work.
Thanks,
Wambui.
