Unifem Holds GGP 3 Stakeholders Consultative Meeting

The United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) held three-day GGP III stakeholders consultative meeting on May 6-8, 2008 at the Sarova Panafric.

UNIFEM plans to undertake a series of meetings with key stakeholders (government, donors, UN agencies and civil society organization working on human rights and governance) to contribute to the process of the development of the next phase of the GGP. The purpose of the consultative meeting is to provide an opportunity to all stakeholders to contribute to the development of a longer term programme that will support the engendering of institutions, building women’s leadership and influencing within national development processes for gender equality and development in Kenya. .

The objectives of the meetings are:

  1. To share actual results of GGP II measured against the outcomes, outputs and indicators and identify good practices within the design and implementation of the Programme.
  2. To brainstorm on strategic actions that would inform the development of a longer term programme towards gender equity and transformational leadership for women in Kenya.
